Kitchen spraying — your questions answered
Every kitchen is quoted individually after a free on-site survey, based on door count, layout, condition and substrate. You receive a clear written quote — we never give a figure over the phone or from a calculator.
Substantially. Respraying keeps the carcasses, worktops and appliances you already own and changes only the visible finish — for a fraction of the cost of a replacement kitchen, and in a fraction of the time.
Three to five days for most kitchens. Day one is survey sign-off, door removal and containment; the middle days are degreasing, dust-less sanding, priming and colour build; the final day is re-hanging, hinge adjustment and sign-off. Your kitchen stays usable in the evenings throughout — you keep your sink, hob and fridge.
Very little. The kitchen is sealed inside a taped poly-sheet enclosure with a zip door, floors are protected from the front door in, and all sanding runs through Mirka dust extraction so there is no airborne dust in the house. We use low-odour, water-based coatings, so there is no lingering solvent smell.
Any colour from any brand. We spray professional coating systems such as Renner and colour-match to Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Benjamin Moore, Coat, Tikkurila or RAL shades at no extra cost. Matt, satin and gloss sheens are included rather than charged as an upgrade. Green Smoke, Blackened, Pavilion Grey and Hunters Green are the most requested at the moment.
Solid wood, MDF, oak, previously painted units, veneer and most melamine or laminate doors. Melamine and high-gloss thermofoil need a specific adhesion primer, which we confirm at survey. Vinyl-wrapped doors that are already lifting at the edges are the one case where we will tell you replacement doors are the better spend.
We spray professional coating systems such as Renner — chemically cured, fingernail-hard coatings engineered for kitchen wear that outperform most factory finishes on production cabinetry, available in matt, satin or gloss. Clean with warm soapy water; avoid abrasive creams and neat bleach on the doors.
